Anti Aging Vitamin E

Anti aging vitamin E is the single most important beauty secret in delaying the ageing process.

Much like vitamin C, vitamin E is a powerful anti-oxidant that protects human cells and LDL cholesterol from oxidation damage caused by free radicals.

It is when LDL cholesterol is damaged that it appears to lead to coronary and heart disease.

Research performed over the last decade has shown that in addition to its anti-oxidant function vitamin E is also involved in an number of other bodily functions including blood cell regulation, connective tissue growth, and genetic control of cell division.

Low Vitamin E

While vitamin E deficiency is uncommon, low vitamin E status has been linked to increased risk of rheumatoid arthritis and severe depression. Women with pre-eclampsia have also been found to have lower blood levels of vitamin E than women without the condition as well as individuals who suffer from certain genetic conditions.

Experts suggest that vitamin E supplementation may increase immunity in the elderly, and assist in preventing macular degeneration and cataracts.

As an anti-oxidant vitamin E assists in protecting cells against the cancerous effects of chemical, pollutants, chemicals and the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Very much like vitamin C, vitamin E can prevent the formation of harmful carcinogenic nitrosamines.

It is well worth protecting yourself by taking one of these Vitamin E supplements every day.

Vitamin E Daily Allowance

The recommended dietary allows for vitamin E is only 15 mg or 22 IU per day. However, the most commonly recommended dosage of supplemental vitamin E for anti aging in adults is 400 to 800 IU per day.

Supplementation is the only way to get sufficient levels of vitamin E for anti aging. In food terms you would have to drink 2 quarts of corn oil, or consume 5 pounds of wheat germ, or eat 8 cups of almonds, or 28 cups of peanuts to reach the recommended dosage of 400 IU per day.
