This is basic dating advice, even if your social life isn’t buzzing with activity - act as though it is.  Tell him which night you will be free and you are only available on that night.  If he asks what you are doing on the other nights smile mysteriously and say, you have plans you cannot break.

Don’t make him too important too quickly.

This dating advice can be difficult to follow if you are infatuated with someone but it will pay off.  Don’t watch the phone or constantly check your emails.  When he does phone don’t talk for too long (you have other things to do – remember?) and keep emails short and to the point.  Remember you haven’t the time to chat endlessly on the phone or on line either.

Keep him guessing and wanting more.

This dating advice will teach you the art of teasing.  Don’t disclose too much about yourself too soon.  Be mysterious and beguiling, men love to be intrigued – keep him wondering.

Don’t make it too easy for him.

If you do, he will start to think you’re not someone special after all and he will disappear.  Remember - men love to chase.  This dating advice will teach you self-respect and he will respect you for it too.  

Use mixed messages to keep him curious.

Tell him you would love to see him tonight but you’ve already arranged to meet a girlfriend.  Let him know you have a life and you are not about to drop girlfriends, family, work etc just because he’s shown up in your life. This dating advice will drive him crazy, especially if you let him know you are interested and you love his company.

If he gets too amorous on your date enjoy the passionate kisses but as soon as his hands start to wonder, gently stop him and say something like ‘I really like you, but I don’t feel we know each other well enough yet.’

If he argues, stand your ground because this is a man’s way of establishing whether you really are someone special or whether you are easily persuaded.  His man’s logic will tell him that if he can persuade you, then chances are other men can too.  This is where many women make a fatal mistake, wise up to this universal tactic and you will never feel used again.

As far as men are concerned women fall into two categories.  Those that are one-night stands and those they can fall in love with.

Tell him you’ve had a wonderful time and smile sweetly, explain you have to get up early in the morning (for work or whatever) and need to go home now.  He may be a bit confused if he’s used to women dropping at his feet, but if he’s a decent enough man, he’ll admit that you are right and respect you for it.

You’re now showing him he has to earn your respect, which means ‘the chase is still on’ and you’re now becoming ‘someone special’.
