Get Flat Abs - How To Get Flat Abs in 3 Steps

If you want to get flat abs then you must follow these three steps:

  1. Lose fat and flab that is covering your muscles

  2. Eat a healthy, balanced and highly nutritious diet

  3. Tone up your muscles

In my experience the best way to get flat abs is through exercise, a highly nutritious diet, and toning exercises all at the same time.

A lean, flat stomach not only looks sexy, but it also helps decrease your chances of developing heart disease and other conditions related to carrying excess belly fat.

However, if you only concentrate on toning exercises you will never get flat abs or a firm flatter stomach because the muscles lay underneath layers of fat and flab that accumulate around your middle.

Toning exercises will help you to get flat abs, but you need to take steps 1 and 2 as well, otherwise you won’t be able to see them because they will be hidden beneath a layer of fat. So, unless you honestly have no fat or flab to lose you will be wasting your time and energy.

Therefore if you are even slightly overweight, the first thing you need to do is lose the layer of fat that is covering your stomach and hiding your abdominal muscles.

Get Flat Abs by Losing Fat

The best way to burn fat is to do fat burning exercise. Fat burning exercise is good for your heart, which is also a muscle, and this will get the blood pumping around your body. You should aim to do some form of cardiovascular exercise at least three times a week and there are many you can choose from.

Depending on your level of fitness right now you can either take a simple walk for 30 minutes, then move on to include hill work, work up to jogging, running, cycling (either outside or using an exercise bike), take up aerobics, swimming, or dancing, take part in energetic sports such as tennis, badminton, or basketball.

Whichever method you choose to burn fat and get flat abs it should not be easy, the whole point is to burn up calories, lose fat and flab and strengthen your muscles. Whereas you should be careful not to attempt too much too soon, and risk injury, it is important you keep challenging yourself.

As your muscles begin to develop and strengthen they will help you to burn fat even after you stop exercising.

Get Flat Abs With Proper Nutrition

The secret to knowing how to get flat abs is giving your body healthy and proper nutrition. Basically, this is because your muscles need a substantial amount of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to be able to grow.

It is important that you have a balanced, highly nutritious diet that is nutrient dense but low in calories and fat. Switching to a diet low in calories doesn't mean you should eat less by using calorie restriction, you should start eating fat burning foods which are naturally low in calories yet contain all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients your body needs to build up muscle tone.

To get flat abs you will have to eat the right foods and you need to eat at least five to six times a day. This is the most basic rule for muscle building because this will ensure that you have sufficient energy to endure exercise and weight lifting in order to build muscles and get flat abs. Eating small meals once every 2 to 3 hours will stabilize your blood sugar. This will also stop cravings, speed up your metabolism, and give you more energy.

Protein plays an enormous role in muscle development because proteins are the building blocks your body needs to build muscle and repair damaged tissues.

Ensuring your body receives enough good quality lean protein for you to get flat abs can be difficult because animal protein derived from meat and dairy products also contains fat. Chicken and fish are good sources of protein without fat, but your can also drink protein shakes.

Get Flat Abs with Whey Protein

Whey protein powder is recommended by body builders and trainers alike, for producing good results when it comes to building lean muscle mass. High protein drinks are also prescribed by some doctors to accelerate fat burning and weight loss in overweight people.

Whey protein is popular because it will help you get flat abs in two ways: firstly, it will help to burn fat and secondly, it will help to build muscles.

Whey protein is used as an extra source of protein between meals. To know how much protein you need to get flat abs, multiply your total bodyweight in pounds by 1.2. The result will be the amount of protein in grams that you should consume each day.

You should also eat plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and fiber. This will help you to feel fuller for longer and stop food cravings.

Get Flat Abs by Controlling Your Weight

You must keep your weight in check if you want to get flat abs because you cannot spot tone any part of your body. To get a firmer, flatter stomach and toned abdominal muscles takes time and effort but it is achievable for most people.

It may be easier for people with a lower percentage of body fat, but for you to get flat abs it will require a keen focus and a great deal of personal commitment. It will also involve discipline and the ability to follow through by doing the correct fat burning exercises and undertaking good nutritional strategies.

Get Flat Abs Doing Toning Exercises

Even celebrities and Hollywood stars have to work hard to get flat abs and there is no way you can have a total body makeover without lifting a finger or moving a muscle.

Some women worry that working out and doing toning exercises, especially weight training, will make them look bulky. This is a myth, it is impossible for a woman to become bulky because her body does not produce enough testosterone to develop muscles like a man. Women who are muscular did not get their muscles from training but from having excessive amounts of testosterone in their bodies.

The best abdominal toning exercises to get flat abs are sit-ups, crunches, leg raises and torso twists. In fact any exercise that utilizes and works your core muscles. Horse riding is an excellent way to get flat abs because your core muscles are working hard to keep you balanced and upright whilst giving freedom of movement to your arms and legs so you can ride the horse forward.

Because the abdominal muscles work hard at keeping you upright you can get flat abs by standing up straight and tensing and releasing your abdominal muscles. When your body is slouched forward your abdominal muscles become relaxed, so straighten up and tense your abs for ten seconds and then release them for 30 seconds. If you do this 20 times every day you will find that your abdominal muscles will strengthen and you will get flat abs.
