Hydrogenated oils are in almost every supermarket product, from breakfast
cereals to peanut butter.
One of the most harmful
and deadly ingredients used in packaged food sold as healthy food is hydrogenated oils.
Hydrogenated oils make the food taste better
and they prolong its shelf life so it lasts weeks, or even months, without deteriorating. Because of this, these foods
are popular but most people fail to recognize the harm these oils can do to your
body.
The downside is hydrogenated
oils will make you gain weight and prevent you from losing weight so they should
not be included in your healthy eating
plan.
Hydrogenated oils have been linked to obesity in both adults and children.
Our body requires a certain amount of good fats just to function properly, good fats are found naturally in eggs, fish and
nuts and are known as essential fatty acids or omega's 3 and 6.
When you eat hydrogenated oils which are found in
packaged foods you are giving your body huge amounts of unhealthy fats which your body cannot use.
So you will keep on feeling hungry because your body is not satisfied. This will lead to cravings that are hard to resist and
inevitably weight gain will follow.
Hydrogenated oils also slow down weight loss because your metabolism will slow down. Hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oil is usually soybean oil and soybean oil in known to slow down your thyroid functions. The thyroid affects both your energy levels and your metabolism, so the end result is either you will lose weight very slowly or you will gain excessive weight. Either way, hydrogenated oils make weight loss almost impossible.
From crisps, crackers (including diet crackers advertised to aid weight loss), biscuits, pastries, cakes, pies, chips,
cereals and dried milk powder (such as coffee whiteners), whether they are sweetened or unsweetened, all these products contain this highly lethal substance.
Without realising, most people consume massive quantities of hydrogenated oils.
Besides obesity and weight gain hydrogenised oils have deadly health effects and are especially
harmful to children. They are said to be the route cause of an alarming increase in diabetes and heart disease. Partially hydrogenated oils are just as deadly.
Over the last fifty years since hydrogenated oils
were introduced into our diets, a new type of diabetes has developed and been named diabetes type II. This new type of diabetes has increased over 1000% over the past few years and in proportion to this over 90% of the food produced today contains hydrogenated oils.
Hydrogenated Oils Are Deadly
Many people are not aware just how deadly hydrogenated
oils are, they are linked to brain degeneration, memory problems, accelerated aging, cancer, ischemic heart disease, multiple sclerosis diverticulitis, diabetes, and other degenerative conditions.
Hydrogenated oils are molecularly changed oils that are toxic to
your body. The human body needs the type of essential fatty acids that nature has provided.
Essential fatty acids are the building blocks of
fats and are necessary for proper cell division and growth. If proper cell division and growth is lacking in
your body, the end results are cancers or auto immune diseases. Diabetes falls into the later.
Hydrogenated Oils Are Sometimes Disguised
Although
hydrogenated oils are illegal in Europe they are still common in the US
diet.
However, even if new products appearing on the supermarket shelves state "TRANS-FATS FREE"
or are listed as 'Trans Fat 0g' on the label, see example, you must check to see if it still lists hydrogenated oils or
'mono-diglycerides' or 'mono and diglycerides'.
Mono-diglycerides is the new name that food manufacturers are now using for hydrogenated oils.
Any type of hydrogenated oil - regardless if it says " TRANS FAT FREE" is still harmful to your body - especially
if it contains hydrogenated cottonseed oil, which is a very unhealthy oil for
your body.
Hydrogenated Oils vs. Refined Oils
Be aware that some less expensive olive oils, for instance, are a blend of refined olive oil and un-refined olive oil. Refined oils are as bad as hydrogenated oils because these oils are loaded with trans-isomers which are just as bad for your health.
Always buy un-refined oils. These will not have the pristine gold color that the refining process places into the oils.
Natural oils are different colors in their natural state. Look for cold expeller pressed oils only, extra virgin olive oil is
a good example.
Hydrogenated Oils Are Harmful to Children
Hydrogenated oils are common in food manufactured
for children.
If you are a mother do not give your children any peanut butter that contains hydrogenated oils, any cookies containing hydrogenated oils,
any juices containing high fructose corn syrup, cereals containing hydrogenated oils, in fact any food that contains hydrogenated oils. Because, if you continue to give them these foods you will be setting the stage for your child to develop diabetes type II.
It's easy to avoid these foods if you start reading the
ingredients labels.
By law, manufacturers must list all the ingredients contained in the food they make.
If a product contains either hydrogenated vegetable oil or partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, (also listed as partially hydrogenated soybean oil or safflower oil) DON’T BUY IT.
If you eat this lethal ingredient, it will shorten your lifespan considerably.
Hydrogenated Oils Trickery
Also be aware that food manufacturers are now getting around the trans fat labeling problem by mixing small amounts of fully hydrogenated oil with liquid polyunsaturate oils and calling it "interesterified oil."
Interestification means mixing fully hydrogenated oil with liquid polyunsaturate oil to produce a consistency similar to partially hydrogenated oil, which is the source of trans fats. This is the manufacturer’s solution to the trans fat problem and labeling requirements.
Hydrogenated Oils vs. Rapeseed Oils
Rapeseed Oil is often thought of as a safer alternative but unfortunately this is not the case.
Rapeseed oil is poisonous to all living things and is an excellent insect repellent. Rape is an oil that is used as a lubricant, fuel, soap and synthetic rubber base and as a illuminate for color pages in magazines. It is an industrial oil - not a food.
Rape oil is strongly related to symptoms of emphysema, respiratory distress, anemia, constipation, irritability, and blindness in animals and humans. Rape oil was widely used in animal feeds in England and Europe between 1986 and 1991, when it was discontinued.
Rapeseed is a lubricating oil used by small industry. It has never been meant for human consumption.
If nobody buys these foods, manufacturers will soon get the message and stop putting
these lethal ingredients into attractive packets and
labeling them as food.
Especially food sold specifically for weight loss.

Hydrogenated Oils Alternatives
Instead of hydrogenated oils or refined oils use olive oil, flaxseed oil, grapeseed oil, organic sesame oil, real butter or Indian ghee (clarified butter), coconut or sunflower oil. Grapeseed oil has 50 times more anti-oxidant properties than vitamin E.
Coconut oil has been looked at negatively because of its' fat content. However, it actually helps the body to metabolize fatty acids better than any other oil. You can actually loose weight using coconut oil and it is great for frying chicken. It is one of the few oils that do not become rancid quickly if it is tightly sealed. In its natural state coconut oil is solid; you can refrigerate it for months as long as you store it in an air tight container. Use it in salad dressings and recipes combined with olive oil.
In addition, coconut oil keeps the skin smooth and young looking.
In many recent studies, coconut oil has proved to act as an antihistamine, anti-diabetic, anti-infective and even an anti-cancer agent.
